Submitting Requests for Change to Health Information Standards

Health standards are continually evolving to reflect changes in clinical practice.

The Infoway Standards Centre manages all Canadian requests for change, as the Canadian affiliate of international Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) and Canada's sole source and access point for licensed international and Canadian health information standards.

Content changes to SNOMED CT®, SNOMED CT CA, pCLOCD/LOINC® and pan-Canadian Subsets should be made via Infoway’s request for change management system, InfoRMS, to facilitate continued development and enhancement of terminology standards.

It is important to review the guidance prior to submitting your requests for change, to help you identify the required information. Submission of specific, complete and high quality information will better ensure your requests for change are addressed in an efficient and timely manner.

InfoRMS is only accessible once you have logged into your Infoway account. If you do not have one, register for an Infoway account on InfoCentral, accept the applicable license agreements, and request access to InfoRMS.

If you would like more information about any of our standards products or services, please contact us.
