About

Welcome to the eReferral Working Group.

The purpose of this working group is to collaborate on the various aspects of creating, and exchanging an electronic referrals (eReferral) or consults (eConsult) between healthcare service providers.

Part of this work will include a definition of what a meaningful eReferral should be in the Canadian context, what use cases it should support, what elements it should include, the standards to be used in its definition and the technical interoperability considerations to support its life cycle.

There are a number of Canadian initiatives that deal with eReferrals. This working group will analyze alignment of those specifications to the anticipated clinical scenarios that are expected to meet a pan-Canadian context.

The pan-Canadian interoperability specifications and information about testing events (i.e., the Projectathon) can be found on InfoScribe. Notifications about upcoming events and discussions will be served through the Forums in this working group.

Welcome once again, please check out the group calendar for upcoming events and the Forum feeds for ongoing conversations.
