A next generation standards framework created by HL7
Health Level Seven (HL7) developed the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), the latest interoperability standard. It is built on flexible, modular building blocks called “resources”, which can be assembled and customized to address clinical, administrative, and infrastructure challenges in real-world health settings.
FHIR is designed to be scalable, adaptable, and easy to implement, enabling seamless data exchange between healthcare systems, applications, and devices. It supports modern web-based technologies, enhancing interoperability and connectivity across digital health ecosystems.
