Dr. Anthony Shek’s presentation is entitled ‘Experiences from automating hospital-wide SNOMED-CT extraction’. Dr. Shek writes: "Hospitals generate data daily – from patients to medical professionals, diagnostic tests to radiological reports. Where most of the clinically valuable information is held within unstructured clinical narratives. This talk will highlight a success story of using free and open-source software to retrospectively structure millions of real-world documents with SNOMED CT."

Dr Shek is a senior data engineer based at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital NHS foundation trust. He holds a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience.
