Dear all,
The first Production release of the SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package is now available from the MLDS distribution site. This release is dependent upon, and should therefore be consumed in conjunction with the January 2022 SNOMED CT International Edition.

SNOMED International and ICH/MedDRA MSSO, together with regulatory and industry partners, developed the SNOMED CT to MedDRA and MedDRA to SNOMED CT maps as part of the WEB-RADR 2 project, funded by the EU’s Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI). For full details, please see the Release Notes linked below.

In line with the SNOMED International packaging guidelines, the Release Notes have been separated from the release package, and so can be downloaded as distinct files from the same MLDS release version. The Release Notes can also be accessed online:

NOTE: An opportunity has been identified to improve the format of the SNOMED International Map Reference Set products. This will apply to all types of simple and complex Map Reference Sets going forward, including (but not limited to) the SNOMED CT MedDRA Simple Map package, from this 2022 Release onwards. Please see section "7.3. RF2 map files" in the Release Notes for full details of the improvements...

Kind regards,
Andrew Atkinson | Release Manager
