Hi All,
Please let us know any issues with the proposed code SSW for Social Services Worker. If we don't hear any concerns EOD by today, then we will proceed with retiring 5300011 and assign the new code SSW.
Best Regards,
Smita

I see that, now.
That is unfortunate. Ah, well; decisions are made.

Hi Peter,
The entire list of HealthcareProviderRoleType use alphabetic Concept Codes. This change looks to bring this one outlier code in line with the remainder of the Value Set. (as Smita noted earlier in this thread).
See the list of concepts below (click on the Concepts tab after logging in).

Using letters instead of numbers makes the codes language-specific. I believe that that is why numbers are used in the first place.

Hello All,
Happy Friday!
Thanks, Sisira for the great proposal to use the "standard letters" (alpha characters) instead of numeric for the concept and also confirming that there will be no implications to your projects, if we change the code.
We would like to propose the code 'SSW' for the concept Social Services Worker published under the code system HealthCareProviderRoleTypes and would like to retire the numeric code '5300011'.
Please let us know any concerns by EOD July 17th, 2019.
Best Regards,
Smita
