To the DICOM Community:

The term for current DICOM Standard Committee (DSC) Industry Co-Chair Jeroen Medema concludes at the end of 2019. Therefore, the DICOM Secretariat is issuing a call for DSC Industry Co-chair nominations. The new co-chair will formally assume office immediately after the last meeting of the year.

 The Call is open from today – 12 August 2019 and will close 12 September 2019
 Nominations and self-nominations should be sent via e-mail by 12 September 2019 to the DICOM Secretariat at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
 The nomination must include (a) a brief recent CV, (b) a short statement highlighting the nominee’s relevant qualifications and (c) the reason for seeking this office.
 All nominations received will be presented at the next DSC meeting on 2 October 2019 and additional nominations may be made from the floor.
 Following the DSC meeting a confidential Letter Ballot will be circulated to DSC members by the Secretary.
 All members of the DSC in good standing will be eligible to vote. The current DSC member list can be found in www.dicomstandard.org/members/


DSC Co-Chair Responsibilities
Together with the User Co-Chair (Lawrence Tarbox, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) the responsibilities of Industry Co-Chair are as follows:
 Lead the work of the DSC and preside over meetings.
 Serve as Co-Chair of the DSC Executive Committee.
 Offer insights on issues of common interest to the DICOM Community, including users, developers and implementers and contribute to strategy and planning sessions.
 Advise the Secretariat on emerging issues, review and comment on documents impacting DICOM, as needed.
 As needed, represent the DICOM Standard and the DICOM Community at external events.
