Dear DICOM Community,

Many of you have recently been made aware of media reports regarding a potential vulnerability in the DICOM 128-Byte preamble. We are aware of the issue and took a few days to discuss and craft a press release and detailed FAQ to address the many questions we’ve received.
We encourage you to visit the new DICOM in the NEWS (link below) which contains the press release and FAQ. Please feel welcome to share these documents with anyone in inside or outside of your organization that may have questions or concerns.

Join us: Please also note that we discuss these and similar issues in DICOM Working Group (WG) 14, Security. We welcome active new members to work with us to keep apprised of evolving issues and craft appropriate responses and solutions. Please join us – WG-14 meets 1x/month – usually on the 3rd Wednesday from 9:00-10: 00 am US ET.
