Hi
We have had a question from the University of Wisconsin about antibiotic susceptibility reporting. They are aware of two ways they are reported (and mapped) in the US.
1, Antibiotic mapped to LOINC and messaged in OBX3, with a numeric value in OBX 5 and an interpretation of S for Susceptible, R for Resistant, etc in OBX 8, usually from an HL7 table.
2, Antibiotic mapped to LOINC and messaged in OBX3 with a qualitative result value in OBX 5 (S, R, I as above) and mapped to SCT qualifier codes for (S, R, etc).
