Hi Smita.

Thanks for posting the environmental scan. For CIHI, please ensure that you start from the following link to navigate to the latest publicly available data dictionaries for CIHI data holdings. www.cihi.ca/en/access-data-and-reports/make-a-data-request/data-holdings.

Additionally, for CRDM, please use the following link. We have recently published a new standard for sex at birth and gender www.cihi.ca/sites/default/files/document/crdm-toolkit-2019-en-web.pdf

Please let me know if you have questions.

Finnie

Hi Smita,

I would be interested in seeing the environmental scan but I don't appear to have access to the file - I get the message: "You do not have access to view that content".

Thanks,
Paul

Hello All,

In June 4th Health Terminology community call, we provided you an update on HL7 International and the Gender Harmony project. This project is trying to determine all different ways that sex and gender are identified.

We have been doing an environmental scan across Canada of the use of sex and gender by province/territory and nationally. This scan is based on all the public information currently available. Below is the initial draft of the scan for your review and feedback.

The Gender Harmony Project-Environmental Scan for Sex and Gender

Please feel free to reach out to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., if you have any questions including but not limited to the following counts:

a. you have any edits in terms of any additional project(s) you would like to include,
b. any updates required in the current work,
c. if we missed any organization that would be a good addition to this work,

We have reached out to the other jurisdictions representatives, who are currently not included in the sheet. We will add the details to the list as soon as we hear back from them.

We will be presenting this work in our next HL7 community call((Tuesday, July 2nd at noon: infocentral.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/news-events/event-calendar/icalrepeat.detail/2019/7/2/2770/-/hl7-canada-community-call)

All are welcome at both the HL7 Canada community meeting and to participate in the Gender Harmony project.
