Hi Raymond,
Thanks for taking a look at the release files. I appreciate your feedback and insights into what a clinical user needs.
I’d like to clarify that we have enriched the CCDD content in the Terminology Server with some content from Health Canada's Drug Product Database (DPD), which includes ATC codes.
Hope you can attend the demo (or view the recording) where we will review the CCDD FHIR modeled view with the enriched content.
Live Demo - CCDD in Terminology Server Oct 3rd at 11am
Kind regards,
Seema

I had a look at the release files and found that for the clinician there are things that are missing. DIN numbers are of zero use for physicians. What would be really useful is that if the ATC classes were attached to each medication. This would make it easier for EMR vendors to provide clinicians with the ability to search for medications by generic name or class. DIN numbers are of zero use when doing a prescription since the prescriber has no idea as to what the pharmacist will actually dispense. I have used a number of differ EMRs lately and doing a prescription really needs to be made much more usable.

Hi all,
Infoway is excited to announce that the Canadian Clinical Drug Data Set (CCDD) is now available in the beta version of our Terminology Server. This is an important step forward as we continue to grow the server’s content since its initial release in July 2024.
The CCDD content launch includes the latest September 2024 CCDD update, along with some historical data, all modeled in Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR), and is accessible via the Terminology Server . Supporting documentation , including release notes , editorial guidelines , and technical specifications , are available on InfoScribe in both English and French. The CCDD content has also been enriched with select Health Canada Drug Product Database (DPD) data, including ATC codes, and biosimilar and pediatric flags. Further updates are in the pipeline and will be shared as they become available.
To ensure a smooth transition, the CCDD will remain accessible through the Terminology Gateway until the full migration to the Terminology Server is complete. We will maintain the Gateway throughout this period, ensuring uninterrupted access. Detailed migration timelines and retirement plans for the Gateway will be communicated in the coming months.
To assist users in accessing the CCDD through the Terminology Server, we have updated our support page with training resources , including user guide , instructional videos, and FAQs , to help users navigate the new system and maximize the benefits of accessing CCDD content.
Additionally, we invite you to join our live demo session on October 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM (EST), held in collaboration with our service provider, Dedalus. This session will provide a comprehensive walkthrough of the CCDD in the Terminology Server, along with a Q&A session to address any questions. For those unable to attend, a recording will be available afterward on the Terminology Server page .
