Correction Notice: Update to “Introducing the Canadian SNOMED CT Drug Extension at the June HTC Meeting” Article

Following the publication of our recent article titled “Introducing the Canadian SNOMED CT Drug Extension at the June HTC Meeting” on several medication management forums, we would like to clarify a key point regarding PrescribeIT® and the Canadian Clinical Drug Data Set (CCDD).

Correction

The second paragraph previously implied a potential transition away from the CCDD in relation to PrescribeIT®. This was not accurate.

The corrected paragraph now reads:

"There is no plan to transition away from using CCDD for PrescribeIT®. We continue to have a requirement for PrescribeIT® stakeholders to support this data set as it provides considerable value to the e-prescribing eco-system, supports pharmacy workflow and patient safety, and enables clinicians to meet regulatory requirements via PrescribeIT® (e.g. for the Alberta Tracked Prescription Program)."

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and appreciate the attention of our readers in helping ensure accuracy and clarity in our communications.
