New ISO/TC215 Chair Announced - Michael Glickman

In a letter from Lisa Spellman, the ISO/TC215 Secretariat, Mr Michael Glickman was announced as the new chair of the ISO Health Informatics Technical Committee. This is a positive development for TC215, for the Joint Initiatives Collaboration (JIC) of 8 SDO's and for international health informatics standards development where Canada is a major contributor and beneficiary of the many standards made available for adoption and use.

Pursuant to ISO-IEC Directives Part 1 and Consolidated ISO Supplement - 2014 (5th edition) Clause 1.8.1, the ISO/TC 215 Secretariat has decided to nominate Mr. Michael Glickman of the United States as the new ISO/TC215 chair for a mandate of three years. This nomination has been sent to ANSI and the ISO Central Secretariat Technical Management Board (TMB) for review and approval. We are certain that Mike is the best person to lead ISO/TC 215 at this critical juncture and are confident that he will continue the great work started by Dr. Chute as well as bring his own vision to the tasks ahead. Many ISO experts already know Mike as the current WG2 convenor and past United States Head of Delegation; however, many may not realize the depth and breadth of his impressive career spanning 30+ years in healthcare, healthcare IT, standards development and much more.
