Thank you, Klei, for an insightful reply. The points you mentioned will definitely help me and my team to report on the subject matter. Truly appreciate the help.
Thank you for reaching out! Here are some things to consider:
- DDoS can be prevented using IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention systems)
- Services that provide load balancing etc. and cloud hosting providers often have DDoS prevention as a service too.
- Large chain pharmacies will typically have IT services provided by the chain. They should work with their IT provider on the right approach.
- Check with the provincial colleges of pharmacies. Each of the colleges will have advice and publications that will include security controls advice and requirements.
As well, it would be a good idea to consider developing incident response plans, conducting regular testing and patching and updating systems regularly.
I also encourage others to reply to the thread and share their opinions. There are already some other responses in other threads that can be helpful!
Hello. My name is Darwin, I am a student learning about Cybersecurity and how it affects the operations of public health institutions. May I ask the group for information on how to avert DDoS attacks in Pharmacy chains in the country? I am looking forward to any information you can share regarding the topic. Thank you.
