Sex-Gender Stakeholder Consultation Session - Final plan posted and tomorrow's consultation session has been cancelled

Hi Everyone,

A few updates:

1. We have decided to cancel our consultation session for tomorrow, as we are continuing to work on the next steps. We will resume again on January 12, 2021.

2. The final version of the action plan and infographic are now available and can be found under the planning project folder: infocentral.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/resources/docs/sex-gender/sgwg-planning-project Please feel free to share these across your different organizations and groups.

3. Wanted to draw your attention to a recent article in the The New England Journal of Medicine on 'Failed Assignments - Rethinking Sex Designations on Birth Certificates: www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2025974 The articles discusses the importance of moving away from seeing sex as a binary, and call to remove the practice of have sex designated on birth certificates.

On behalf of all of the research team, wanted to extend our thanks to everyone for all the time you have dedicated and knowledge you have shared throughout the year in supporting this important work. We look forward to reconvening in the 2021 as we move onto the next steps.
