This webinar may be of interest to members of this community.

Join Sally Remus, RN and PhD candidate, and the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association (CNIA) for a primer on big data science in nursing and how it can accelerate evidence, from discovery to implementation, at bedside and in boardroom. Big data science in nursing may in part help position nurses and the profession to achieve its future vision, where nurses are perceived by patients and professionals alike as knowledge workers providing safe, sustainable quality care through clinically relevant, “real-time”, evidence-based practices.

Sally Remus is an accomplished healthcare executive with diversified experiences as a clinician, nurse informatician, educator and consultant. Currently, she is an informatics doctoral candidate at Western University’s Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing, London ON and is pursuing a research project with a focus in big data science. Sally’s research will utilize data science methods to explore “under-utilized” nursing homecare EHR data to detect risk factors that predict ALS patient capacities to remain safely cared for at home, delaying or even avoiding institutionalization.

As the voice for Nursing Informatics in Canada, CNIA partners with jurisdictions, nursing and health informaticians and health informatics organizations across Canada to ensure that Nursing Informatics informs clinical practice, education, research, administration and policy

This webinar is open to CNIA Members.
