A Transformative Centre for Clinical Innovation
I am proud to share today, Canada Health Infoway (Infoway) has launched the the Infoway Centre for Clinical Innovation in Digital Health (CIDH) . Aligned to the strategic goals of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, the CIDH aims to drive meaningful engagement with clinical leaders and learners; and by doing so, accelerate the adoption of interoperability.

As you know, in advancing interoperability – the ability for different digital health systems to communicate, exchange, and use personal health data seamlessly and securely – we enable healthcare providers to access comprehensive patient information when and where it's needed. This leads to more informed decision-making, reduced administrative burden, and ultimately, supports better health outcomes for Canadians. By harnessing the expertise and insights of clinical leaders, the Centre looks to play a crucial role in transforming Canada's healthcare system by helping ensure digital health solutions are tailored to meet the needs of frontline healthcare providers and ultimately improve patient care for years to come.

Accelerating Clinical Leadership with the Connected Care Innovation Grant
Alongside the launch of the CIDH, we are pleased to announce the Centre’s first initiative: The Connected Care Innovation Grant . By investing in clinical leaders across Canada, this accelerator grant aims to advance grassroots clinical initiatives that focus on progressing innovative digital health interoperability-related efforts and improving connected care for patients and providers. We know that by supporting our clinical leaders, we’re strengthening the backbone of our healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that it can effectively adapt to evolving healthcare needs. Successful applicants can receive up to $50,000 per project. Grant applications will be accepted from May 22 to July 5, 2024.
