Hi all!

Thanks very much everyone for joining for another great quarterly check-in! In particular thank you to Allana Cameron for a fantastic overview & update to the Canadian Patient Summary work, and to those new to the Community for whom this call was your first introduction!

Please use this link to view the recording of the call:

Here are some notes from the session:

Patient Summary Update from Allana Cameron:

- Canadian Patient Summary (PSCA) draft specification is implementable and testable
- Trying to make the patient summary standard usable by every jurisdiction
- Projectathon with 9 vendors – were able to create and format a structured patient summary and exchange it between them
- Making updates to the FHIR implementation guide based on the feedback from the participating jurisdictions who are doing limited production releases (LPRs) for patient summary
- What's next: looking at new use case: ability to create a patient summary on-demand – Healthcare provider wants to see the latest info about patient 'live', could come from 1 data source or pull from multiple all at once
- Potential for fall or winter, to join with north american connectathon to test more advanced exchanges like the one above
- Snapshot of LPRs: could be created by HCP and submitted real time; could also be generated for patients automatically daily and submitted as a scheduled batch; implementation patterns could include EMR to central repository, or EMR to HIS (point to point exchange)
- Patient Summary + other innovative technologies: several jurisdictions wanting to combine AI and PS together – can help improve the use and availability of patients summaries and the data
- Also looking at how a patient who's travelling across intl borders being able to generate a patient summary into a QR code, and the QR code can provide access to providers in another country to that summary of information if needed; access would be managed by WHO

Community Shout-outs re: FHIR Projects:
- From Yaron D: OceanMD looking at a project leveraging CDS Hooks specification - looking for anyone to connect who has prior knowledge & experience to share on this!

Updates from Stream Leads:

1. SMART North
- Helping groups work on any SOF challenges; e.g contextual launch
- Also comparing with Ontario's viewlet framework; documenting where things can align
- Building a simplifier.net implementation guide
- For those interested in following progress: infocentral.infoway-inforoute.ca/en/forum/266-fhir-implementations/5296-smart-on-fhir-community-of-practice-subgroup#9000 - includes a link to a MS Teams Channel w/ ongoing content, and instructions for access to the channel.

2. eReferral
- Working on aligning terminology (referral, send referral, receiver), moving away from ON specific guide
- Also looking at tackling central intake use case

3. Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles
- Conducting review of CA Core+ v0.1 FHIR Profiles and providing feedback from CA Baseline lens prior to close of feedback window
- Gathering comments in spreadsheet
- Completed review of Patient Profile, currently finishing up review of Practitioner, plan to move on to PractitionerRole
- Aiming to also complete review of Organization and Location Profiles before deadline for review/feedback

General Questions/Topics
- We have a process for requests to changes that come through the forums (corrections and changes), any thoughts from the group on how we're handling this, any need for updates? Used to handle the Solution Architecture calls, now there isn't a place to cover the requests for updates to things like naming systems

Thanks again everyone!
