Greetings,

On September 29, the open review for the eReferral - eConsult Interoperability Specification (iGuide) will be launched through a webinar.

To enhance the eReferral and eConsult processes digital solutions are being enabled with improved data standards for interoperability. We all recognize that clinicians need to be able to refer patients to the care they need, anywhere in the province and also need to work with other medical providers to answer patient-specific questions for eConsult. Current referral and consultation processes are a barrier to this. Electronic referral (eReferral) systems enable health care providers to digitally initiate, receive, manage and track referrals, and where appropriate use electronic consultations to support faster access to expert advice.

An introductory webinar will be hosted on September 29 to provide a high-level review of the eReferral - eConsult Interoperability Specification and related material, including the process for submitting feedback.

Anticipated Key Dates:
1. September 29: eReferral - eConsult Webinar (11:30 am – 12:30 pm ET)
2. September 29 to October 26: Provincial Open Review
3. October 26 to November 23: OH comment disposition period
4. January 25: DHISC meeting interoperability specification approval
