I don't know if the CVC funding issue will be resolved, but I suggest that you (and PS-CA) bind to value sets defined in the Terminology Gateway (search for "Immunization" and "Vaccine" to find appropriate subsets). It's just a code and a description in Terminology Gateway, so there is less metadata than in the CVC (no links to related concepts, no public picklist terms, no clinician picklist terms, no cross-references to GTIN, etc.).

I would also recommend that implementers, in general, seek expertise from the appropriate InfoCentral forums by cross-posting questions.
Public Health Surveillance for vaccine/immunization-related questions,
Medication Management for drug-related questions,
Health Terminologies Community for laboratory-related questions (for historical reasons, lab was absorbed into Health Terminologies),
Health Terminologies Community for terminology-related questions for all of the above.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Marc

Hi there..
TELUS is actively working on the development of our FHIR Immunization profile for sharing Patient Chart data out of EMRs. We noticed that CVC has posted an announcement, indicating that there is no longer funding and until it is obtained, CANImmunize will no longer be able to update the CVC after April 2022. (cvc.canimmunize.ca/en/home).

PS-CA is currently binding to CVC value sets .. as had we but we are now wondering if anyone has a crystal ball and can advise if this little issue is likely to be resolved (cvc.canimmunize.ca/v3/ValueSet/Generic and cvc.canimmunize.ca/v3/ValueSet/Tradename), or whether there are other plans that implementers should be aware of.

Just trying to stay aligned :) Thanks very much,

A.
