Any new projects to share;
• Immunization Passport at a federal level rather than provincial? Some jurisdictions working on this, but question remains if it will be a federal approach or each jurisdiction will go its own way to meet individual timelines
• Alberta Patient Summary
- based on the International Patient Summary (IPS) collect from EMR - challenge is to engage EMR vendors to implement a FHIR API approach
• OntarioMD has created a FHIR mapping for its Core Data Set and it has been drafted as profiles on Simplifier.net (
simplifier.net/omd-cdss)
• Telus PSS, Med Access, Wolf, Microcrest, QHR, Well Health and QHR have announced they are moving towards to HL7 FHIR
• Virtual care collaboration with Infoway
SMART North - Paula Lee
• 3 meetings
• Starting with use cases:
o eReferral launch
o eForms
• cross-Canada representation and broad vendor attendance
• Russ Buchanan is working on updates to SMART on FHIR launch for eReferral, which can be leveraged for SMART North.
eReferral - Tim Berezny
• 2nd publication of iGuide, being clarified and updated by Russ Buchanan (contracted by eServices Program)
• Some potential breaking changes around the messageHeader event codes - to be discussed if it is necessary
• End of June publication target
• This will also be the basis of a future eConsult iGuide
• Ongoing work on HealthcareService API, leading to a working API in June to collect
• Alberta hasn’t finalized the messaging standard that will be used;
Canadian HL7 FHIR Baseline Profiles - Michael Savage
• Profiling sub-stream: Due diligence review comparing to International Patient Summary to existing profiles
• Governance sub-stream: Working towards getting endorsement with jurisdictional groups that would mandate the use of these profiles for net new FHIR iGuides
• Principles for OntarioMD core data set is to align with the Canadian Baseline Profiles. Anecdotal review indicates there is strong alignment.
• Consider using these profiles when/if SMART North gets to the point where data generated from a contextual launch is sent back to the SoF Server.
• Conformance/validation key too
Anyone have an efficient approach / tool to get data out of a FHIR format into a serialized data format e.g. spreadsheet?
• Use case: compare two implementation guides
• JSON - to - CSV conversion
• XSLT
• Table view in Forge lends itself to copy & paste
• IGPublisher creates a .csv zip file that is in Excel file format
