Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles - Governance Stream Meeting - January 8th, 2-3pm EST

• Purpose of the meeting: to review Derek’s findings in comparing the CA Baseline to CIHI’s Primary Care Content Standard
• Important to consider that this standard already has Pan-Canadian sign-off
• Relevant use case: health system performance measurement, as well as potential for clinical dashboarding
• Would be great to be able to say that the Canadian Baseline Profiles are capable of (i.e. their constraints do not preclude) the generation of the Primary Care Content Standard’s concepts
• Important to keep in mind that just because the Baseline Profiles don’t have constraints placed on elements which are defined in the CIHI PC Content Standard, doesn’t mean that the Baseline necessarily needs to increase its cardinalities / constraints to accommodate; additional constraints can be added in implementations which are built on the Baseline
• As future conversations will be on what a future ‘Canadian Core’ will look like (i.e. which existing use cases to prioritize alignment to), this standard will be an important one to continue the analysis that Derek has started; (he has highlighted the semi-gaps where the CIHI standard defines a data element that is not constrained as ‘mandatory’ in the CA Baseline)

For this Friday's Governance meeting, the agenda is as follows:

1. Review / update on where we're at with the Due Diligence Review, as well as recap the discussion from the last Governance call to ensure everyone is up to speed

2. As discussed last session, high-level examination of CIHI's primary care content standard for alignment to CA Baseline, in the context of the use case of national reporting requirements; all of this being part of the larger context of which pan-canadian groups we will be planning to direct our 'pitch' to (CHI, CIHI, etc.)
