Thanks Lloyd!

I knew this was an easy question - banging my head against the wall trying to find the term "slicing name". Searching for colon just doesn't cut it. lol

onPhone is the 'sliceName' for a particular slice of NamingSystem.contact.telecom. Slicing, slice names and element id conventions are all documented on the hl7.org/fhir/profiling.html page.

Hi all,

I'm working on getting proper documentation of our URIs onto Simplifier (Thanks for the help Joel!)

But I have encountered one thing I can't seem to find documentation for:

Element ID - NamingSystem.contact.telecom:onPhone.system

What is this use of a colon called, and where would I find a description of this usage?

As far as I have been able to figure out, it seems to indicate to choose a type of element to use as (in this case) a "telecom" element.

Trying to search for this is rather challenging because colons appear everywhere in FHIR documentation... lol

So I'm hoping someone knows what it is called in this context.

Thanks for any help!

Randy
