Discussion: Canadian Baseline Profiles

• Key is to not constrain the base resources so much that implementers decide not to use the baseline profiles

• Expectation is to have a live eReferral implementation by end of calendar year
• Currently leveraging a hybrid approach between messaging and REST paradigms
SMART on FHIR
• Lots of SMART on FHIR examples have been examined since this stream began
• Workstream has a solid understanding of the ‘chicken and egg’ issue surrounding SMART on FHIR APIs, apps, and source systems
• Need to identify a body / organization willing to bring source system vendors together to develop common FHIR Profiles (baseline profiles)
FHIR Tooling
• Frederic provided the update
• Not much change in work items over the summer hiatus
Solution Architecture
• Igor provided the update
• Need to come up with Canadian URIs for the FHIR extensions for drug / medication

Hi All!
Hope that everyone has had a great summer, and is transitioning well into the fall. Following our summer hiatus from the Community-wide calls, we would like to plan our next Community Call for Wednesday October 24th, from 12-1pm EST. We will be using this call as an opportunity to collect any existing and new work items, with the intention of trying to determine the work plan for the FHIR Implementations Working Group for the upcoming year.
A draft agenda will be posted in this thread closer to the date of the Community Call.
Thank you!
