Request for FHIR Initiative Info

Hi Gavin,

CIHI is working on a number of FHIR initiatives. Please see below.

1) Initiative Name: IRRS (Integrated interRAI Reporting System)
- Data Being Exchanged: interRAI assessment data (ChYMH – Child and Youth Mental Health; HC – Home Care; LTCF – Long-term Care Facility)
- Systems involved: Point of care systems to submit data (REST API) to CIHI’s IRRS database
- Status: Testing

2) Initiative Name: PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures)
- Data Being Exchanged: Hip and knee arthroplasty patient outcome/measure survey response
- Systems involved: PROMs survey collection systems to submit data to CIHI in FHIR format
- Status: Specification development

3) Initiative Name: NSIR-RT (National System for Incident Reporting-Radiation Therapy)
- Data Being Exchanged: Radiation therapy incident data
- Systems involved: Point of care system to submit data (REST API) to CIHI’s NSIR database
- Status: Testing

Hi,

We're creating a list of FHIR initiatives across Canada. If you know of any FHIR based data exchanges in your jurisdiction at any stage (conception, in development, fully deployed) can you please share them with the forum? Responses do not have to be formally endorsed by jurisdictional powers that be nor 100% accurate. Any level of detail is welcome, ideally the descriptions will include:

1) Initiative Name
2) Data Being Exchanged (e.g., scheduling, drugs, patient healthcare summary, etc.)
3) Systems involved (e.g., Primary Care EMR PUT/POST data to repository, Acute Care HIS GET data from repository, etc.)
4) Status (e.g, exploration, conception, developing proof of concept, developing full scale solution, deployed and in use, etc.)
