HL7 Canada Affiliate Access Renewals begin March 1

Hi all,

Infoway continues to encourage the increased use of e-health standards and standards-based materials. Standards enable the thousands of health care providers across the country to communicate and share health information in a consistent, safe and reliable manner. When used in digital health solutions, these standards:

• Support members of the care team to accurately interpret and exchange information needed for safe and effective care
• Facilitate clinical decision support through alerts and reminders
• Enable data to be aggregated, with appropriate approvals, for clinical research, ultimately leading to better outcomes

Many of the following standards and software tools are available free of charge, and are accessible via InfoCentral:

• SNOMED (international releases and Canadian extensions)
• LOINC and pCLOCD
• pan Canadian HL7 standards (eg. CeRX, MR 02.05, CDA), Canadian FHIR Registry
• Terminology Gateway, Message Builder, InfoScribe, HL7 Explorer and more

HL7 Canada Affiliate Access
Infoway coordinates the affiliate agreement with HL7 International on behalf of Canada and HL7 International. HL7 Canada Affiliate Access is required for all Canadian implementers incorporating HL7 materials in a product and for those wishing to participate in HL7 International workgroups. Access is from April 1 - March 31, renewable annually.

A notice will be sent to all those with current HL7 Canada Affiliate Access to begin the renewal process .

HL7 Canada Affiliate Access Fees payable to Infoway based on access type:

Individual Access: $100 CDN per fiscal year, plus applicable taxes
Benefits:

• Access to HL7 Localizations
• Participation in HL7 International ballots through the HL7 Canada Council
• Discount on HL7 conference fees, HL7 education and HL7 certification exams
• Required to be a co-chair of any of the HL7 International workgroups

Organization Access: $500 CDN per fiscal year, plus applicable taxes
Benefits:

• Access to HL7 Localizations
• Provides access for an unlimited number of users at the same organization
• Participation in HL7 International ballots through the HL7 Canada Council
• Discount on HL7 conference fees, HL7 education and HL7 certification exams
• Required to be a co-chair of any of the HL7 International workgroups

HL7 Canada Affiliate access is NOT required for viewing and/or downloading HL7 content from InfoCentral.
