LOINC®
was initiated 30 years ago by the Regenstrief Institute, a non-profit medical research organization associated with Indiana University, to establish a public code system for exchanging laboratory and clinical observations between computer systems.
LOINC has grown significantly, becoming a cornerstone in health data interoperability worldwide. In Canada, LOINC has been at the forefront since 2006, forming the foundation for the pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database (pCLOCD). Together, we continue to make a profound impact on the landscape of healthcare.
Infoway congratulates LOINC as they celebrate this milestone with a special virtual
event
on Wednesday February 14, 2024.
Improving the quality of patient care through the effective sharing of clinical information among health care organizations, clinicians and their patients.
