LOINC has published new laboratory mapping guides to assist with mapping your local codes to LOINC.

These new resources help laboratories map their individual tests or catalogs within these fields to appropriate LOINC terms according to current and best practices. There are mapping guides for six laboratory domains: Allergy, Cell Markers, Chemistry, Drug and Toxicology, Hematology and Serology, and Molecular Pathology.

Each document has been authored by LOINC's terminology development team and reviewed by external stakeholders and subject matter experts in each discipline. Upon a first review, each guide was subject to pilot testing by laboratory professionals and followed up by an external review. The end result are these vetted guides that can be used to train individuals in mapping of lab test to LOINC codes for interoperable exchange.

All mapping guides are available for free with your LOINC username and password.
