Canadian lab terminology implementers can now update to the latest pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database release (R05.17.00_2.73).

Informed by the latest available LOINC release v2.73, processing requests for change, community guidance and input, this release contains new (32) and edited LOINC terms (12) in English and French. It is available for review and implementation accessible from Terminology Gateway .

You can learn more about all the changes in the pCLOCD release notes.

We continue to expand the Canadian French translation of LOINC terms with each release and this includes translating new terms and updating existing revised terms. Thank you to the Translation working group for their ongoing support and dedication to this valuable work.

We also thank the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) for their continued efforts on updating the MIS Service Activity Reporting attribute for pCLOCD codes. To find out more about MIS Standards, visit CIHI’s website.

Infoway collaborates with various partnering organizations and stakeholders to ensure pCLOCD is reflective of Canadian use and needs. Thank you for your continued contributions and efforts.

We welcome questions and feedback for enhancements to better support implementation needs, please contact us.
