Hello Monica
We are not addressing "de-prescribing" we are addressing the description of mineral oil products in CCDD in this paper.
Please let us know if this answers your query.

Hi there:

I'm wondering what you mean by deprescribing mineral oil ?

Also, other oils are used as vehicles for medication administration. Would the same happen to other oils ?

The CCDD Team has been looking at how to describe the TMs (therapeutic moities) and NTPs (non-proprietary therapeutic products) for products containing mineral oil as an active ingredient substance. The attached document summaries the information and the rationale for the choice of the two concepts that will be used in the CCDD:
  • mineral oil heavy
  • mineral oil light
