I saw a fantastic documentary yesterday called
The Stairs
.
Shot over five years, this highly engaging and compassionate documentary examines the lives of 3 habitual drug users (Marty, Greg and Roxanne) in Toronto's Regent Park community. This documentary also illustrated how social determinants of health (for example, having stable housing) affects those struggling with drug use. Marty, Greg and Roxanne now help others in their community through their social work.
The Stairs was named Best Canadian Film of 2016 by the Toronto Film Critics Association.
