In case you missed it, Health Canada is inviting stakeholders, healthcare professionals, patients, pharmaceutical industry and other interested parties to comment on newly proposed regulations to help inform patients on opioid risks and allow the Minister of Health to work with pharmaceutical companies to track, measure and help reduce risks of their products.

The announcement is found: www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/programs/consultation-opioids-handout-warning-sticker.html

The link the proposed regulations is found within.

The first Progress Report on the Joint Statement of Action (Dec 2016-Feb 2017) has been released.
It can be found on the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction site.

The report and appendix are a great status update of where the provinces/territories and other organizations are at in meeting their commitments. There are also great resource links throughout - highly recommend to take a look!

Kind regards,
Seema

Hello all,

CADTH's best evidence on opioids and pain management is centralized in two online resources — www.cadth.ca/opioids and www.cadth.ca/pain — which are updated frequently.

We wrote about these evidence bundles in the latest issue of Hospital News:
What is the evidence on opioids and pain management?

Thank you for the invitation for CADTH to join this group.

Jonathan
