2014.01 - NAACCR Standards for Cancer Registries Volume V: pathology Laboratory Electronic Reporting Supplement Version 1

There has been some discussion amongst WG members about the need for/role of free text in S&G functional requirements.

This document has been provided to assist the S&GWG understand some of the 'free text' issues in EMR systems, as observed during narrative pathology report testing cycles (leading up to conformance testing), during the Manitoba Cancer Staging Information Initiative 2010-2012 (years 2 & 3). 

The undersigned's main contribution to this document was sections 4.1, 4.2 & 4.3 (pp. 19-21) based on her integral role as project QA/QC conformance tester.
