Infoway has released the latest version of Canadian Edition (CA Edition) of SNOMED CT.

This Canadian release is based on the January 31, 2021 International Edition and includes COVID-19 vaccine related concepts, an assortment of French Canadian and French global terms produced by member countries Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Luxemburg, and affiliates Phast (France), many new organism concepts.

New concepts and descriptions have been created to support Canadian implementations, including CANImmunize and ongoing immunization work, the Canadian Institute for Health Information value sets, the eOrder application project in Newfoundland, the Ontario Lab Information System, the Manitoba Public Health Information Management System, MendMD and Agir tôt, SIL and SI GMI (Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec).

As part of our annual Subset review and maintenance cycle, Infoway is also releasing updated versions of 41 subsets, and inactivating 3 subsets that are no longer in use.

Release notes for the CA Edition are available on InfoScribe along with general editorial guidelines for making change requests in the Canadian context.

The Canadian Edition of SNOMED CT and all pan-Canadian Subsets are available on the Terminology Gateway.
