An Introduction to ICD-10-CA and CCI

Join us to learn about the classifications used for ambulatory and acute care data collection in Canada, ICD-10-CA (International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems Tenth, Revision, Canada), and CCI (Canadian Classification of Health Interventions). This beginner level education session is designed for anyone interested in becoming familiar with these classifications and their use.

During this session, the participants will be introduced to:

  • What is a statistical classification, how is it used in Canada, and how it differs from a terminology.
  • Overview of the history and structure of the two classifications used in acute and ambulatory care in Canada, ICD-10-CA and CCI.
  • A demonstration of searching within the classifications.
  • How the data collected provides meaningful information in CIHI reporting.

Introduction à la CIM-10-CA et à la CCI

Venez vous familiariser avec les classifications utilisées pour la collecte des données sur les soins de première ligne et les soins ambulatoires au Canada, la CIM-10-CA (Classification statistique internationale des maladies et des problèmes de santé connexes, 10e version, Canada) et la CCI (Classification canadienne des interventions en santé). Destinée aux débutants, cette séance saura intéresser quiconque souhaite se familiariser avec ces classifications et leurs utilisations.

La séance abordera entre autres les sujets suivants :

  • Ce qu’est une classification statistique, la façon dont on l’utilise au Canada et en quoi elle diffère d’une terminologie.
  • Aperçu de l’historique et de la structure des deux classifications.
  • Démonstration de recherches dans les deux classifications.
  • En quoi les données recueillies sont utilisées judicieusement dans les rapports de l’ICIS.
