This presentation will explain how an international ISO standard, Identification for Medicinal Products (IDMP) will facilitate better patient care for Canadians. This session is designed for anyone interested in becoming familiar with this standard and how it is already being leveraged and used in Canada. During the session participants will be introduced to:

  • What is IDMP
  • Why it is needed and how Canadians will benefit from it
  • Who will be impacted by it
  • When and how will it be implemented (e.g., Structured Product Monograph and Canadian Clinical Drug Dataset)
  • How can stakeholders influence aspects of how it will be implemented
