Hi All,
Please let us know any issues with the proposed code SSW for Social Services Worker. If we don't hear any concerns EOD by today, then we will proceed with retiring 5300011 and assign the new code SSW.
Best Regards,
Smita

As I posted in the duplicate thread on this, using letters instead of numbers makes the codes language-specific. I believe that that is why numbers are used in the first place.

Hello All,
Happy Friday!
Thanks, Sisira for the great proposal to use the "standard letters" (alpha characters) instead of numeric for the concept and also confirming that there will be no implications to your projects, if we change the code.
We would like to propose the code 'SSW' for the concept Social Services Worker published under the code system HealthCareProviderRoleTypes and would like to retire the numeric code '5300011'.
Please let us know any concerns by EOD July 17th, 2019.
Best Regards,
Smita

Hi Harsh,
Social Services worker belongs to SCPTYPE(HealthCareProviderRoleType) from the HL7V3 messaging/Provider Registry. This concept has been posted on our Terminology Gateway.
We have noticed that the code published (5300011) for this concept does not match the other codes from the Infoway owned SCPTYPE code system. We just want to confirm whether anyone using this concept name/code or maybe some other code for the same concept so that this could be fixed.
Hope this answers your query.
Kind Regards,
Smita

Hi Smita,
Please, would you be able to provide a context for this change? I.e. Which project, jurisdiction etc? Is it related to FHIR spec development or a standard change to legacy subset used in HL7 V2 messaging? Which code system contains concept id = 5300011?
Thanks
Harsh
