Community Shout-outs:
• Canada Health Infoway has just released a preview of the Pan-Canadian Patient Summary; FHIR Profiles are accessible via Simplifier:
simplifier.net/PS-CA-R1
• Not confirmed, but may have a ‘connectathon’ opportunity coming up for the above; a chance for Vendor involvement
• ‘Smart’ health cards for vaccine credentials / immunization information; working on extensions for exemptions; would be great to continue to hear from involved folks on this; for more information:
spec.smarthealth.cards;
build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-shc-vaccination-ig;

• From HL7 Canada / Int’l side, this FHIR Implementers Group has been mentioned to the global execs; overall, we’re getting great visibility for the work we’re doing; HL7 Int’l going through a period of ‘revisioning’; looking like there will be 3 main branches: Standards Development, Implementation, and Operational
eReferral
• eReferral Spec is now in version 0.10.1, with some updates being made to the narrative
SMART North
• Focus shift of workstream toward awareness of significant Canadian SMART on FHIR implementations / projects
• Upcoming meeting with SMART Health IT from the US
• Working to drive toward a vendor-agnostic space for Canadian SoF content
• Main needs are to get GitHub/IG Publisher/Simplifier tooling approaches up and running for this stream, and to have people to work on the content
Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles
• Profiling sub-stream: Great progress led by Sheridan and the team on working through the errors/warnings in the CA Baseline iGuide; this moves the CA Baseline very close to being at Maturity Level 1 and in a good place for wider audiences to review and provide feedback
• Governance sub-stream: We are very close to finalizing the content for our ‘pitch deck’ on the CA Baseline and what our ask of them as ‘adopters’ / endorsers of the CA Baseline is (are), and we hope to be reaching out to jurisdictional groups shortly to start/continue these conversations with them (be they formal meetings or asynchronously over email)
HL7 Canada
• See above for other HL7 Canada updates
• Also, keep in mind that there are opportunities to join the HL7 Canada Council; newsletter will be coming out and circulated soon
