• The group discussed the evolving Pitch Deck which will be used to communicate the benefits and asks of the Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles initiative to pan-canadian stakeholders
• Suggestion – federal government has power to mandate uptake of pan-Can standards like CIHI’s reporting requirements from across Canada
• Perhaps Health Canada + CIHI is a stakeholder group we can take the CA Baseline to in the context of them supporting in this way (i.e. IGs for national reporting must be derived from CA Baseline)
• Infoway – similar ask but in the context of care delivery, whereas Health Canada + CIHI reporting context is more ‘back-end’
• No reason the pitch can’t go to both Health Canada + CIHI and Infoway
• Important to note that Canada has already put weight, governance, and funding behind the above national mandatory reporting requirements
• Suggestion – can look at CIHI’s primary care indicators and their primary care content standard for a future Due Diligence Review consideration (or motivated folks can review offline on their own and report back on their high-level findings in the new year)
• What are we asking our own organizations for in terms of ‘support’? What does their providing their logo in our pitch deck mean?
• At a minimum, we’re looking for our home organizations to provide their logos in the spirit of supporting the ‘vision’ of the Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles (e.g. ‘_____ supports the vision of the CA Baseline Profiles, and supports the vision of pan-Canadian usage of common FHIR profiles as a starting point for net-new implementations)
• NOTE: Dec 25th we will NOT be hosting any Governance conversations; Governance will resume for its next bi-weekly occurrence in the New Year
Please see below for the agenda for the Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles - Governance Stream Meeting, occurring on Friday December 11th, 2-3pm EST.
1. Update on the progress of the Due Diligence Review underway in the Profiles Review Stream (completed comparing CA Baseline Profile for Immunization to International Patient Summary's Immunization Profile)
2. Update on (successful) closing of weekly Clinical Profiles Review stream
3. Opportunity to work through current draft slides for CA Baseline Pitch Deck
