Réponse de Michael Savage sur le sujet Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles - Governance Stream Meeting - June 26th, 2-3pm EST
Hi all,
My apologies for the delay in posting the notes from the Governance call 2 weeks ago, please see below:
Attendees
Michael Savage
Sheridan Cook
Igor Sirkovich
Jean Duteau
Joel Francis
Rita Pyle
Alex Goel
Derek Ritz
Finnie Flores
Harsh Sharma
Ken Martin
Kenneth Sinn
Kristina Garrels
Maria Hu
Mukesh Kushyap
Randy Nonay
Shamil Nizamov
Shweta Munshi
• Sheridan and Mike provided a summary of the forum discussions from the last couple of weeks, regarding questions on the intent / principles / boundaries / value proposition of the Canadian Baseline Profiles; action item will be to incorporate this consolidated wording into the Canadian Baseline iGuide so that there is an easy-to-reference location for these clarifications
• The US Core’s purpose is to reflect ONC’s CDI; too constrained for anything outside of that; which is why they are working on a not-use-case-specific profile set: US Baseline
• The US Baseline is what we are emulating with the Canadian Baseline
• Some constructive observations about current statements about intent / value proposition is that they do not sufficiently speak to how the Canadian Baseline Profiles will build up to something that is interoperable / something that achieves interoperability
• Another observation is that some of the listed value propositions need to be reconciled to ensure they are not offering contradictory statements
• Regarding candidate implementations to look at for the due diligence review:
• Lab: --
• Pharmacy / Medication: Alberta / Saskatchewan jurisdictional implementations (v3 or otherwise) Prescribe IT (emphasized by a number of attendees), Ontario’s Digital Health Drug Repository (DHDR)
• Immunizations: Ontario’s Digital Health Immunization Repository (DHIR)
• Registries: Saskatchewan / BC jurisdictional implementations, Ontario’s Provincial Client & Provider Registries (PCR/PPR)
• Patient Administration: --
• Patient Summaries: International Patient Summary
• eReferral: Ontario eReferral Specification
• COVID 19: LOGICA’s COVID iGuide
• Should be open to comparing v2/v3 implementations with the Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles (i.e. we shouldn’t necessarily limit to only looking at other FHIR implementations)
• If we end up looking at non-FHIR implementations, community members who have experience comparing these different types of implementations will need to help us out with this
• Suggestion for these comparisons is to focus on the must support elements (i.e. Y/N for Must Support) and coded elements (value sets, terminology)
• Action Item: Mike to post the above updated list of domains to cover as a separate thread, for community to suggest additional implementations which will help us fill in the domains with no candidate implementations yet

Canadian FHIR Baseline Profiles - Governance Stream Meeting - June 26th, 2-3pm EST a été créé par Michael Savage
Hi all,
For the upcoming Canadian Core Governance Call on Friday June 26th, 2-3pm EST (reminder: see FHIR Solution Architecture in the InfoCentral calendar events, along with registration instructions), our agenda is the following:
1. We will summarize the "governance / intent of Canadian Baseline profiles" discussions that have been occurring on the forum over the last few weeks, and will provide visibility on our work efforts to clarify the intent, principles, and boundaries of the Canadian Baseline Profiles (and put this wording in one, easy-to-find place; we will also provide visibility to the US' (upcoming) distinction between their 'US Baseline Profiles' and 'US Core Profiles'.
2. We will identify the existing FHIR Implementations that will be used in the initial, internal Due Diligence Review. We are aiming to match at least 1 implementation guide for each of the domains the group has already identified:
Lab:
Pharmacy/Medication:
Immunizations:
Registries:
Patient Administration:
Patient Summaries: IPS FHIR Spec (proposed)
eReferral: Ontario eReferral FHIR Spec (proposed)
COVID-19: LOGICA FHIR Spec (US) (proposed)
We'll also discuss if there are care domains highlighted in Canadian non-FHIR artefacts (e.g. life of the lamberts) that should be included in the above list of domains.
Thank you!
