Walkthrough of Profiling Stream
• Mike walked the Community through the processes, tools, and expectations of leads/reviewers for the revised core profile reviewing approach, featuring three sub-streams each dedicated to a set of core profile drafts

Expectations of Leads
• How can we ensure each substream is gathering adequate representation?
• Can add stakeholder engagement as a bullet to this list
• But primarily the lead will be responsible for gathering representation from stakeholders (can certainly reach out to external stakeholders)

Processes and Tools
• For leads, what are the qualifications for being a lead?
• Most important criteria is simply the willingness to volunteer for the forming role
• 1) has an ability to ask the right questions when reviewing and discussing proposed changes, 2) if the lead doesn’t have prior experience in implementations, specific domains, etc., it’s important they can bring those to the call who have what they’re missing
• Leads can leverage FHIR chat / zulip tool to get input from FHIR authorities in advance of the call
• Leverage the InfoCentral forum, but also other FHIR communities (i.e. chat.FHIR.org)
• Future topic for one of the bi-weekly meetings, not everything can be expressed via Structure Definition; critical concepts that need to be understood on their own

Volunteers to Lead the Clinical and Medications Substreams
• Igor stepped up to lead the Medications substream
• (shortly after meeting), Scott volunteered to step in as the lead for the Clinical substream; availability would begin several weeks later than the start of the other two streams, but don’t foresee an issue with that

Communication and Engagement with Other Groups
• Folks encouraged to make a chat.fhir account and join the Canadian Core stream
• Sheridan created the stream on FHIR.Chat. It’s a single stream with devoted topics for each of the three sub streams, facilitates transparency and cross-pollination

Hi all,

For this Friday's Profiling Meeting, we will be walking through the Sub-Stream structure for reviewing groups of Core Profiles. This has been done in a prior call, but considerable work has been done (a big thank you to Sheridan) to provide additional shape and direction to:

1. The overall process, and the tools used to track the work being done
2. The responsibilities of those who volunteer to lead the sub-streams
3. The common principles which should underpin reviewing efforts in all sub-streams

Subsequently, we will ask again for volunteers to lead the Clinical and Medications sub-streams.

The content we will be walking through is found on slides 11-15 on the google deck: docs.google.com/presentation/d/1w98EOZh1ZDfyJfF6V6Jav7xyIXQ25NgyJQNZjTGTsuQ/edit?usp=sharing

I will upload the deck to the InfoCentral forum for those who are for any reason unable to view the deck via the above link.

-Mike
