Agenda & Action Items Review

• Reviewed the 5 open action items
• CLOSED – Gavin to attach/map FHIR working group solutions and items to activities for the FHIR North Conference
o Increased FHIR WG relevance during hackathon
o Reference WG products and implementations at conference (UID, eReferral, architecture)
• CLOSED – Yaron to update the landing page content with a summary of the progress over the past 6 months
• CLOSED – If community is interested in learning more about eReferrals, email Tim Berezny to request access to the
Asana project team site
• NEW – Savage to send out ‘1 week reminder’ to community regarding FHIR Working Group experience survey, closing EOD November 1st

Registries Work Stream Status

• Kris provided status of Registries work stream and proposed new status for the stream
• 2 active projects (Provider Registry and eHealth Ontario’s DHIR)
• Will no longer be part of work stream updates during monthly Community Call but will still provide updates in the general updates portion of these calls

New Work Stream(s) Proposals

• UPDATE – New Work Stream – SMART on FHIR + CDS Hooks
o Attila and Gavin co-chairing the work stream
• ACTION ITEM: Attila to send shout-outs on InfoCentral to gauge interest from community for eScheduling Work Stream

HL7 Canada Council Election

• FHIR community continues to cross-promote broader HL7 community news and updates
• Results from HL7 Canada Council Election are available, have been cross-posted in FHIR forum

World Standards Day

• eHealth Ontario was one of the main hosting organizations for WSD celebrations/dialogue
• The focus of EHO’s presentation was the Digital Health Immunization Repository (DHIR), which is built on the FHIR standard

FHIR Implementation WG Landing Page

• Main page for the FHIR Working Group has been updated to reflect all of the work accomplished by the work streams and the larger
community thus far
• ACTION ITEM: Savage to add new Work Stream(s) to Landing Page content

eReferral

• Gavin provided updates on eReferral work stream progress
• Work continues on implementation guide being published on FHIR Registry (Simplifier.net)
• Continues to have good vendor representation

Tooling

• Attila provided updates on FHIR Tooling work stream progress
• Canadian FHIR Registry Launched, on Simplifier.net
• Proposal to plan a webinar series to gain (potential/existing) user feedback and increase adoption of the Registry

Solution Architecture

• Igor provided updates on the Solution Architecture work stream activities
• Have received presentations on FHIR testing and tools (i.e. Touchstone) to support FHIR testing and connectathons; links from presentations to be posted soon
• DHIR specification is posted on eHealth Ontario website, open for review until November 16th; recording of DHIR Spec Webinar to be posted soon

Other Updates: HL7 International Ballot Plans

• Need to review FHIR Standard especially from a Lab perspective, re: Observation resource
• Who are the implementers in Canada that will be most affected?
