We are pleased to share that the March 2025 release of the pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database (pCLOCD), version R06.22.00_2.80, is now available for implementation. Canadian lab terminology implementers can now update to this latest version, informed by LOINC release v2.80 . This release also includes the evaluation and processing of change requests from the current maintenance cycle, as well as valuable Standards community contributions and guidance.

This release includes significant updates, such as the expansion of pCLOCD to incorporate 1,173 existing LOINC codes to support Document Ontology jurisdictional needs. Additionally, 2,180 LOINC concepts have been updated, including changes to their pan-Canadian attributes, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between LOINC and SNOMED for the LOINC Ontology in the latest LOINC release. Read the full details in the  pCLOCD release notes .

How to access pCLOCD version R06.22.00_2.80:

With every release, we continue to expand the Canadian French translation of LOINC terms, this work includes translating new terms and updating existing revised terms. Thank you to the Translation working group for their ongoing support and dedication to this important work.

We also express our thanks to the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) for their continued collaboration on updating the MIS Service Activity Reporting attribute for pCLOCD codes. To find out more about MIS Standards, visit CIHI’s site .
