Hi Anne,
Please feel free to connect with me in regards to the work we are doing at CIHI in regards to mapping SNOMED CT to CCI.
Of note, we have already been in contact with folks at HDRN about OMOP mapping from ICD-10-CA to SNOMED CT.
classifications&[email protected].
Happy to connect.

Hi Anne,
As noted by Harsh and Linda, I think there are resources available to assist with this process. I do want to mention that it will be important to note the use and purpose of the mapping to make sure it isn't seen as a clinical representation of the HIS.
In Alberta, we have come to learn that there are notable concerns with crosswalking/crossmapping classifications and terminologies, and this is not nearly as effective or straightforward as in the US.
Happy to chat if you wanted to 'throw the ball around', feel free to email me

Hi Anne,
Thank you for posting your questions on this forum. My two cents:
- Use Pre-Coordinated Concepts when mapping CCI to SNOMED CT; Pre-coordinated are single codes which are directly related to one intervention or procedure.
- You can utilize OMOP Standardized Library by using tools such as ATHENA from the OHDSI website which will help you cross-reference CCI procedure codes to SNOMED CT standard.
- Manual mapping revision and validation may be needed due to custom codes.
- In addition to reaching out to CIHI, you can also reach out to OHDSI forums and ask them for guidance.
I hope this helps. All the best!!

Hi Anne,
CIHI is the Canadian organization that has developed, is maintaining and publishing ICD-10-CA and CCI. They have also created maps between their classifications and SNOMED CT CA. You might want to reach out to them for this type of information.

Hi,
We are trying to map our HIS data into the OMOP standard (ohdsi.org) for research use. Tools are available to match text to SNOMED codes but the mappings need a lot of revision and checking. Since we are trying to do this for CAP, our internal radiology codes etc it is a big job! Right now, I am trying to map CCI procedure codes to SNOMED. I have found guidance on coding SNOMED to CCI - has anyone generated the inverse mapping already?
I'm new to this forum so sorry if this post is misplaced.
Thanks,
Anne
