CIHI is requesting that a new concept be added in the HealthcareProviderRoleType for Personal Support Worker (PSW):

Workers employed/paid to provide personal care such as assistance with activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, and related health services to persons. This category encompasses numerous positions such as Continuing Care Assistants/Aides, Personal/Health Care Aides/Assistants, Nurse Aides/Assistants, and Home and Community Care Workers. Exact position titles and scopes of work vary across Canada and are changing over time.
