The Collaboration Team (Jane and Suzy) are reaching out for help in gathering information from members in relation to a number of standards areas. We need the information to feed into decisions on how we go forward with the work and the organizations. Historically we have received little feedback if we put up a note for the Member Forum, so we thought we would try going through CRM leads.
We would greatly appreciate your feedback on these 3 areas/organizations:

1. Orphanet – Rare Disease Classification, owned by INSERM based in Paris. We have incorporated a large number of their concepts into SNOMED CT and created a map of about 3500 concepts (it is mandatory to report in Europe on Rare Diseases using Orphanet but also used globally in genomics world). The Alpha release is currently out for review and we are issuing the production release in September this year. There remains about 1000 concepts in Orphanet which need to be aligned with SNOMED CT and added to the map to complete it and then we can move to maintenance and updating – discussions are ongoing about how we approach this work.

Question: we ask members who are using Orphanet for rare Disease information to identify to us the missing content in the maps so that we can agree a prioritisation of the work on the remaining content which needs to be added. We need a list of the specific Orphanet content please that they need and also their use case

2. LOINC – as we have discussed on our CSRM calls, we need to evaluate where we go next, so we need to understand a couple of things from our Members
Question 1: Are you using LOINC and what is the use case for the use of LOINC?
Question 2: Are you using or plan to use the SNOMED CT July 2017: LOINC-SNOMED CT Cooperative package production release?
Question 3: If you are using or planning to use this package, do you require it to be updated for your usage?
Question 4: If you do not use LOINC or SNOMED CT in the area of laboratory information, what do you use?

3. GMDN – we have continued to work with GMDNA to align medical device content in SNOMED CT with GMDN and create a map of aligned content with each international release. Given the changes in Medical Device regulation, the mandation of the European Medical Device Nomenclature (EMDN) in Europe and use potentially by WHO as well as regulators recognising the need to draw on information in the EHR, we need to review again what we are doing with GMDN and explore whether we need to consider a linkage to EMDN at some point.
Question 1: Do you use GMDN in your country? If not, what medical device nomenclature do you use or plan to use?
Question 2: Are you using the SNOMED CT to GMDN map?
Question 3: If you are using the SNOMED CT to GMDN map, please could you describe the use case
Question 4: If you are not currently using the SNOMED CT to GMDN map, are you planning to do so, what are your timelines and use case
