Dear members of the Public Health Surveillance group,

All the Canadian Core Immunizations and Medications draft profiles are complete. Please review these draft profiles at build.fhir.org/ig/scratch-fhir-profiles/CA-Core/artifacts.html and provide feedback under the FHIR Implementers forum thread .

We are going to cancel our Immunizations & Medications weekly calls and will consider setting up a review meeting if we get any feedback that needs to be discussed on a call.

One outstanding question is whether there is a need to create a new extension to represent a 'DPD Company' name (as opposed to the existing 'manufacturer' element) for both Medication and Immunization profiles.

A 'DPD Company' name, as used in the Health Canada DPF, indicates the organisation (company) that holds the authorization to place the product on the market in Canada. This may not be the company that has manufactured the product, but it is the company that holds the legal responsibility for the use of the product in Canada and should be the same as the company named on the product label/packaging.
