Hello HL7 Canada community members.
The May 2022 HL7 Ballot Cycle is now open and voting will close for comment by HL7 Canada on
April 27th. Sorry for the short time frame but I came down with the latest variant of COVID-10 recently, and have been offline for almost 2 weeks.
You can download the May Ballot materials as a
ZIP compressed folder here.
As usual, this compressed folder has an Excel index with hyperlinks to the ballot content and associated comment spreadsheets for your convenience. Again, If you wish to comment, your comment spreadsheets need to be provided to myself, or the Infoway Standards helpdesk by
April 27th.
BTW: One of the important aspects of current ballots is that ANSI rules require HL7 International to periodically review their existing standards and determine whether they should be Reaffirmed or Withdrawn as officially supported by HL7 International, and in the past several ballots this includes HL7 v3 and other legacy standards content. Withdrawal of standards does not imply discontinuing the use of a standard, however it does mean that there will be no further maintenance of those standards, and they will no longer be listed in the active catalog of HL7 Standards.
Those of you with current HL7 v3 or other implementations of legacy standards may wish to review the list of 5 reaffirmations and 10 withdrawals.
Thanks for your interest, and we appreciate any comments you wish to provide.
