lightbulb Seeking Insights on CCDD & PrescribeIT

Hi Armaan! My apologies - I have been corrected internally on my understanding of this piece. We do NOT yet have CCDD mapped into Epic.

Much like you guys, I believe we are waiting for some Epic work to be done THEN we may have CCDD information mapped in, at which point our interface could be set up to send both FDB and CCDD; until that work is complete, we only send FDB information.

My apologies for the confusion.

Morning Jennifer!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am curious to know how you got CCDD into EPIC if it is available because we are exploring that as well.

Thanks again for your insights!

Thanks,
Armaan Gill

Hello Armaan,

I am one of the PrescribeIT team members.

First Data Bank has a mapping available between their proprietary knowledge base system codes and CCDD that many systems integrating with PrescribeIT are using.

I know there are some additional considerations with respect to access to the CCDD module in FDB and the way development is happening in EPIC.

Please reach out and I'm happy to setup a meeting where we can discuss further Cette adresse courriel est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.

Good morning Armaan!

Just a bit of our experience thus far:

When we went live with PrescribeIT from Epic, CCDD was not available within Epic for us to use, so we send FDB codes. At this time, even though we may have CCDD in Epic, we have established that the FDB codes are what we send.

We do not have any current plans to adjust the code set.

If we were to adjust it though, it would likely be done by having our medication experts confirm/complete mapping the CCDD to the medication records within Epic, and then adjusting our interface profile variable to then send the CCDD instead of/as well as the FDB - there would be no mapping within the interface for specific drug code sets.

Best of luck with your implementation!

Hello Medication Management Community,

I am posting this topic to gather insights & experiences from other organizations that have EPIC as their vendor and have implemented PrescribeIT or are planning to do so. Specifically, I am curious about the following:

- Has anyone been successful in mapping their existing drug terminology (e.g., FDB) to CCDD to meet PrescribeIT requirements?
- Would it be feasible to manually map FDB content to CCDD, or is there a more streamlines approach?
- Is anyone using CCDD as an interface terminology, or is it not intended for this purpose?

Your shared experiences and any advice on best practices for these integrations would be incredibly valuable. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Armaan Gill
