More support for including Indication on prescriptions

A recent publication shared the results of a survey amongst prescribers. (326 responded)

Respondents had to rank their top three choices for changes that would "most improve [their] ability to discontinue medications."

The top choice was "Requiring all medication prescriptions to have an associated 'indication for use."

Makes sense, when we think of all the handoffs that happen in a patient's care.

Glad that PrescribeIT has this functionality. Perhaps in the future it should be a mandatory field.

Hospital discharge and Long Term Care profiles should include indication as well. So often front-line clinicians are guessing.
